Since 1948, Carter Middle School has proudly served the Knox County community with a commitment to educating the whole student—academically, socially, and emotionally. Through strong academics, AVID, CTE, arts, athletics, and student-led clubs, we provide diverse opportunities for every learner to grow and succeed in a safe, supportive environment. BETA Club Welcomes New Members
One of Carter Middle School’s largest and most active organizations is the BETA Club, which fosters leadership, service, character, and achievement. Our BETA students proudly represent Carter Middle at state and national competitions, showcasing both their academic excellence and commitment to serving others.
Showcasing Student Art
At Carter Middle School, our visual arts program inspires creativity and showcases student talent. Our young artists consistently earn recognition in area competitions, with their work featured at the Tennessee Valley Fair, Dogwood Arts Festival, and numerous regional art showcases. We’re proud to celebrate the imagination and achievement of our students.
CMS Recgonized or Excellence in Civics Education
Carter Middle School proudly earned the Governor’s Civic Seal for the 2024–2025 school year. This honor recognizes our commitment to providing students with meaningful instruction in democratic principles, significant events in U.S. history, and the formation of federal and state governments.
